While most of wordpress ecommerce solutions require a separate theme and plugin, there are a few wordpress themes that have all of the shopping cart functionality you need built in, no extra plugins or coding required!
While these themes are all very beautifully designed and take out a lot of the mystery of setting up a shopping cart, they often do not always have the functionality or features you need. For that reason, we recommend them only for very simple stores that do need a lot of inventory control or product variations or other advanced features.
WordPress All-in-One Ecommerce Themes With Shopping Carts Built In
Templatic eCommerce WordPress Themes
:
Templatic has a number of beautifully designed wordpress themes with the shopping cart functionality directly built in. They are very easy to use, but lack features for more advanced stores. For example, product variations are limited, they do not include any advanced payment gateways such as PayPal Pro, you can only choose whether to sell digital or physical products and shipping and tax options are not as quite as detailed as some may need. The designs however are great and the themes do work with very minimal setup and customization.

With each theme only $45, there are a lot of options and featured packed into these themes for a very affordable price. It’s very well designed on the outside and notices details most other shopping carts forget, such as a customer admin area or wishlist. It also supports all the major payment gateways (including PayPal Pro), has custom taxonomies and also offers some product variations/inventory tracking ability though not as advanced as some may need. The biggest drawback to these themes is they are not very user-friendly (a lot of custom fields are required) and the coding beneath it all is pretty intense – so making advanced customizations is not for the faint of heart!
All in all, it’s a solid theme solution to consider, but keep in mind it might be a little difficult to set up and use regularly for some. Version 2.0 is in the works, so we can hope that eventually this will turn into a theme/plugin combination that could eventually rival the others. You can see all of their themes directly here: Visit ThemeForest.
Themes by Flash_Cart at Mojo-Themes
There are also a number of wordpress ecommerce themes at Mojo-Themes available for selling digital goods with built in payment processing. The themes have a very modern look and feel and seem to be designed for theme and plugin developers/website graphic designers in mind. For web graphics and downloads, you could probably get by with the fact that these themes do not support PayPal Pro or Amazon s3 integration, though it does support multiple currencies and several nice to use custom meta boxes when adding products.
